The booth, and the guests who take it

One night a week the booth belongs to somebody else. It is the same booth — two decks, a mixer, a metre of space — and the brief we give a guest fits in two lines.

What we ask

Three hours, no genre, and read the room. That is it. We do not send a reference playlist, we do not ask for the set in advance, and we have never once asked anybody to play something because it would do well in a video.

What we do ask is that the first hour stays slow. Everything else is theirs.

Why the name goes in the calendar and not on the street

Because the room holds a hundred people and a name on the street brings four hundred. The guests know it, and most of them say it is the reason they play here: nobody comes for the poster, so everybody in the room came for the night.

The line-up closes the Monday before, goes up in the agenda, and whoever is on the list hears about it first.

Live sets

A few times a year the booth is a live set instead of records, which changes the room completely — the night stops being a set and starts being a performance, and the floor moves closer.

Those nights are marked in the calendar. They are also the ones that sell out fastest, so ask early.
