The address
Inside Mezontle,
off 5th Avenue
No sign, no queue, no name on the street. Ask for PRAYER at Mezontle and they point you down the corridor.
Playa del Carmen runs on one street. Fifth Avenue is where everything happens and where everything is on display — which is exactly why PRAYER is one turn off it, behind a door with no plaque.
Everything below is what you actually need to know before you come: where it is, when to come, how long it takes to get here and what the room is like when you walk in.

One turn off the avenue
Mezontle sits a block from 5th Avenue. You walk in, pass what looks like the end of the building, and find the door at the back of the corridor.
Close enough to walk from anywhere in the centre. Far enough that the noise of the avenue does not come in with you.

Before the door
The beach is five blocks away and the good dinner is on the avenue, so most people arrive having already done both. That is the point of a 10 PM opening.
Come early if you want the bar, come after midnight if you want the room at full volume. Both work; they are different nights.
Doors at 10 PM · busy after midnight

When to come
December to April the town is full and Friday and Saturday go first — reserve a week ahead. May to November the room breathes, and a Wednesday can be the best night of the month.
Whatever the season, the room is the same size. Twelve tables is twelve tables in August and in January.
High season: book a week ahead
The night does not start on the avenue. It starts when the door closes behind you.
The house
- 01
Reserve
Twelve tables and fourteen seats at the bar. On a Friday, arriving without a name on the list rarely works.
- 02
Come to Mezontle
The entrance is inside, not on the street. Ask for PRAYER and they will point you down the corridor.
- 03
Find the door
Fluted glass and brass, no plaque, no name. Only the light coming from the other side.
- 04
Knock twice
There is no bell. If your name is on the list for the night, the door opens.

Getting here
However
you arrive
Playa sits between two airports and a ferry. Whichever way you come, the last stretch is the same: the avenue, the corridor, the door.
From Cancún airport
About 50 minutes south on the 307. Shuttles and taxis run all night; agree the fare before you get in.
From Tulum
About 50 minutes north. Straight road, well lit, no tolls.
From Cozumel
The ferry lands at the pier, a ten-minute walk. Last crossing back is around 11 PM, so plan to stay.
On foot or by car
Five blocks from the beach and walkable from most of the centre. There is paid parking on the street behind.

Ask for the door
Tell us the night, the time and how many of you. The exact address comes with the confirmation.
